GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS, NETWORKING/ADVOCACY

Daily media watch for print and broadcast releases to address issues relevant to HIV/AIDS/STDs, sexuality and reproductive health (RH).
- Active advocacy among policy and law makers for inclusion of health issues into their legislative agenda to attain an environment suitable for an effective program implementation.
- Extensive local and international affiliations have been made by RAF to foster greater partnership/ networking such as ITPC International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPS), Reproductive Health Advocacy Network (RHAN)
RAF has chaired for three (3) consecutive years, the HIV/AIDS Network Philippines (HAN), an umbrella organization of more than 40 local NGOs working on HIV/AIDS preventive efforts.
- Former member of Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) representing HAN and its NGO members, PNAC is the advisory council to President of the Philippines on matters relating to HIV/AIDS policies.

Major accomplishments:
- Facilitator to a series of consultative meetings of regional communities for PNAC strategy paper.
- Active participation in advocacy and lobbying for the passage of the AIDS Bill now known as RA 8504 (AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998 signed by the President of the Phil last February 13, 1998).
- One of the lead agencies that stir up proposal writing for Round 3 Global Funds TB AIDS and Malaria (GFTAM) and was approved in 2003.
- Together with pinoy UNGASS network, leads pioneering initiatives in meeting UNGASS declaration of commitments for Philippines.
- Participates in the drafting of Philippines MTP 4 formulation (2005-2010)
