Various legislation on sexual and reproductive health issues has been
passed to better serve the Philippine community. Among them, the most
successful one is the Philippine AIDS Law which was signed last February 13, 1998.
The two other legislation, Anti-Discrimination Bill and the Reproductive
Health Care Act of 2002 are still on the process of getting support from both
the lower and upper house and hopefully these bills will be able to get its
all out support to be enacted as a law.
Laws are only good if properly enforced, implemented and monitored.
Much has yet to be seen on how these legislation will impact on the lives of the Filipinos.
